FAIRMONT - Mass of Christian Burial for Julie A. Johnson, 45, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Burial will be following the service in the Calvary Cemetery Julie passed away Monday evening, October 15, 2012, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Julie Ann (Doherty) Johnson was born July 12, 1967, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Thomas and Genevieve (Mathe) Doherty. She attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School. Following her graduation, Julie attended St. Cloud Technical College and studied Cosmetology.
On October 25, 1986, Julie was united in marriage to Lyle Johnson at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Fairmont, Minn. Together the couple made their home in Fairmont where they were blessed with two children, Kristina and Styles. Julie worked for many years at area restaurants. Most recently she had been employed with the Mentor Network in Fairmont, assisting those with special needs and also the Derby in Guckeen, Minn.
In her spare time, Julie enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She loved to socialize, whether it was talking with her siblings, visiting with her friends or picking on her dad; she always had something to say. Her quiet time was spent crocheting. One of Julie's favorite things to do was to travel. Over the years, she and Lyle took many trips to places such as Yellowstone, the Virgin Islands, many cruises, and even a trip to Ireland. Her zest for life will be greatly missed by those that loved her and called her friend.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lyle Johnson of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter, Kristina Correa and her husband, Eddy and their children Isaiah and Aubrey; son, Styles Johnson of Mankato, Minn.; father, Thomas Doherty of Fairmont, Minn.; mother-in-law, Arleen Johnson of Fairmont, Minn.; siblings, Marie Doherty, Steve Doherty, Alice (Randy) Martin, Jerry (Karen) Doherty, Maureen (David) Cordova and Joanna (Mark) Lange; two brothers-in-law, Lanny (Debbie) Johnson and Leland Johnson; a sister-in-law, Lori (Todd) Weinke; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
