Little Colton Jae "Gus" Carney, age 2 months, of King Cove Rd., Young Harris, went to be with Jesus on Friday, May 28, 2010. Colton was born on March 18, 2010 in Union County, the son of Katlin Carney and Shane Patterson. Colton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Carney, great grandparents Pamela K. Brown and James Allen.
Surviving Colton are his parents, Katlin Carney of Young Harris, grandparents, Michele and Billy Carney of Young Harris and Judy Allen of Blue Ridge, sister, Ciera Harper aunt and uncles, Nikki Carney, April Lovell and Cody Allen all of Blue Ridge, great aunt and uncle, Sandy and Richard Carswell of Young Harris, grandparents, Bobby Brown of Young Harris and Louise Allen of Blue Ridge, godmothers, Lori Carswell and Keya Peebles of Young Harris, godfather, Pete Patterson of Blairsville, great great-grandmother, Mary Kate Petrey of Young Harris, many other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 8 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fair officiating. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
