Delcie Bateman Love, 98, of Claudville, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at R.J. Reynolds-Patrick County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Patrick County on March 4, 1908 to the late William L. and Annie Joyce Bateman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Gaston Love; two sisters, Mary Lou Smith and Oma Jessup; and a brother, Garnet Bateman.

She was a member of Hills Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jacquelyn Love of Stuart, Jerry and Rachel Love of Claudville and Ronnie and Janell Love of Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and Juel Turner of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Scott Love, Jon Love, Jeffrey Love, Traci Love Jessup, Amy Love Smith, Richard Turner and Jeffery Turner; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena Mae Beasley of Francisco, N.C.; one niece, Betty S. Clark of Stuart, and one nephew, Stephen A. Jessup of Francisco.

Funeral services will be conducted today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart by the Rev. Alan Vass and Pastor Randy Bartley. Burial will be in Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
