Obituary: Ex-County Commissioner, died at his residence three miles west of this city after a ligering illness, yesterday, at 11:00 am, aged 52 yrs, 6 months, and 15 days.

Obituary: Mr. Curtis was appointed county commissioner in 1875 to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Keck, deceased, and in the year following was nominated and elected to the office which he so faithfully filled by appointment. In 1878, he again came before the people, was elected, and held the office up to within 3 months since, when he was compelled, owing to ill health, to resign. He was universally liked by all, irrespective of party and made one of the best officials the county ever had.

Mr. Curtis was afflicted with consumption, brought on by a cold while prostrate with the winter-fever, and has been suffering with this desease for nearly three years. He leaves a wife and five children, three boys and two girls, all grown, to mourn his death. Peace to his ashes.
