Carrie was the daughter of Luther D. Mills and Mary Emily Clark. Her sibling was Emmaline. She was born on a farm in Lexington Township, MI. On August 24, 1882, she married George Washington French. They had 3 children: Maud (1883-1965) who married Edmund Ernest DesJardins, Earl (1889-1974) who married Selena M. Irwin, and Mary Irene (1900-1971) who married James Nobel Sanborn of Detroit. Carrie died at the age of 83 years at her home in Lexington Township.
