Born in Cuba, Victor loved New York and visited as early as the 1920s before eventually emigrating to the USA (New York) in 1955 with his wife Juana Maria Ros, daughter Juanita, and son Victor Joaquin. In Cuba Victor had been the Mayor of the Village of Jaruco and also owned a Hardware Store. Once in New York, Victor worked as an Iron Welder until retiring in 1972. Victor also helped manage the family' business, Jane's Beauty Salon in New York City. Victor was a very strong and healthy man who never suffered from any illnesses until he passed away in his sleep from a major stroke.
