ALBERT SHREVE AKIN
A retired farmer and merchant, of Hamilton St., in Campbellsville, formerly of Green County, son of the late Mr. Charlie Jefferson Akin & Josephine Walker Akin, was born in Green Co., KY May 10, 1909. He died at 12 noon Saturday, January 25 [1986] at the Taylor County Kentucky Hospital. He was 76 years of age. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church. He served 8 years as magistrate of Green County Fiscal Court. He united in marriage to Miss Lena Foster, April 13, 1929. She preceded him in death July 10, 1978. He reunited in marriage to Mrs. Marie Sullivan Pike, August 5, 1980. Besides his wife, Mrs. Marie Akin of Hamilton St., in Campbellsville, he is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Eunice Lee of Greensburg; 2 stepsons and 4 stepdaughters: Mr. Kenneth Pike of Hilton, OK; Mr. Melvin Pike, Mrs. Edna Read, Mrs. Opal Loy, Mrs. Mary Clark, and Mrs. Katherine Pike all of Campbellsville; 20 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandson; 1 sister, Mrs. Mildred Grimes of Elizabethtown; 1 nephew, Mr. Steve Grimes of Elizabethtown; several other relatives and many friends. One brother preceded him death, Mr. Arthur Akin. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Monday, January 27 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Randy Smith and Rev. Thurman Eaton. Burial was at the Bennett Cemetery in Green County. Pallbearers were William Earl Milby, Clifton Milby, Paul Pike, Leon Gray, Don Antle and Dennis Beams.
