John Laidley Barclay, 69, well known Carmichaels real estate broker, and life long resident of the Carmichaels community, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, June 30, at his home, following an illness of three months.
Born July 28, 1882, was a son of the late Israel and Orpha Barclay and was a life long member of the New Providence (Glades) Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Waynesburg Lodge F. & A.M.
He was married January 31, 1912 to Edna Southern, who survives with two sons, Ralph Barclay of Carmichaels and Hugh Barclay of Uniontown. He also leaves three grandchildren; one brother, Hugh Barclay of Seattle, Wash. , and a sister, Mrs. Annabelle Hart of Carmichaels.
