Bette J. Breth, 89, of Columbus, Ohio and Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully Friday, October 19, 2012. She was born May 10, 1923 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Walter C. Breth, M.D. and Elizabeth (Drapier) Breth.
Bette was a graduate of Chillicothe H.S. and The Ohio State University with a B.Sc. in Nursing Education. She worked at the OSU Hospital and then as a private surgical nurse for Zeph J.R. Hollenbeck, M.D. for 36 years. Bette was a member of the OSU Alumni, OSU Nurses Alumni, and the First Community Church. She was a past member of DAR, TWIG 44 Children's Hospital, Nurses Association of the American College of Obstetricians-Gynecologists, and the Ohio State Nurses Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Roberta Meckstroth and brother-in-law, Norman Meckstroth, M.D. Bette will be missed by her nephews, Joel A. (Joelene) Meckstroth, Mt. Vernon, WA and Charles Eric Meckstroth, Cathedral City, CA; and niece, Kristen Ashcom, of Mississippi.
Burial will be at a later date at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe.
