Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Justin Pierce S.D.S. with burial in the convent cemetery.
Sister Simons, nee Judy Simons, was born March 28, 1938, at Green Bay, daughter of Donald and the late Lauretta Seidl Simons. Sister Simons entered the convent in 1956 and professed her vows August 15, 1958. She received her BA degree at Holy Family College, receiving a major in History and a minor in French. She received her MS degree at University of Wisconson-Oshkosh. Sister Simons taught school at St. Andrew School, Manitowoc; St. Ambrose School, Ironwood, Michigan; St. Joseph School, Waukesha; St. Peter School, Marquette, Michigan; St. Willibrord High School, Chicago; Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha; St. Benedict-Rosecrans High School, Crambridge and also at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc from 1980 to 1983.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity; her parents, Donald and Agnes Simons of Green Bay; two brothers, Patrick of Green Bay and Larry of Pueblo, Colorado and a sister, Ms. Karen Simons of Encinitas, California.
Friends may call at the Holy Family Convent, from 7:30 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Thursday evening. Prayer service at the Convent Chapel this Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. Memorials would be appreciated to Silver Lake College. A Memorial Mass will be at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Green Bay, Monday evening, December 10, at 7:30. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of local arrangements.
