Services were to be conducted today for Joseph Henry Hairfield from the Arrington Bussey Chapel by the Rev. Curtis Robertson and the Rev. Randolph Abshire. Interment was to be in the family cemetery near Callands. Mr. Hairfield died Thursday night at the Franklin Memorial Hospital here at the age of 79. He is survived his widow Mrs. Elberta Jane Hairfield, five daughters: Mrs. Jim Henry Hodges, and Mrs. Frank Kent of Rocky Mount, Mrs. William Kelly of Pulaski, Mrs. Charles H. Storey of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Mrs. Johnnie Runions of Okinawa Island; three sons: Charles B. Hairfield of Greensboro, NC, James R. Hairfield of Ala., and Joseph Henry Hairfield of Brush Prairie, Wash.; a brother John W Hairfield of Rocky Mount, two sisters- Mrs. Frank 0. Boiling and Mrs. Johnnie Cates, both of Roanoke; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
