Homer E. Vaughn, 72, of Petersburg died at 5:57 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Hospital. He was born in Chatham on April 20, 1917, the son of Albert Benjamin and Bertha Betty Thomas Vaughn. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was employed by Central Gulf Railroad for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, in 1987 and a son.
Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Lincolnland Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church in Atteberry.
Surviving are one son, one daughter; one sister; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services at Bisch Memorial Home, with the Rev. Greg Lockett officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
