Floyd Rowland Churchill was born in Bigelow
Kansas, on December 11, 1892 and passed
away suddenly at his home southeast of
Bigelow, after a illness of only a few hours
at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 7 days.

A son of Fayette and Ida May Churchill,
Floyd received his schooling in Bigelow,
where all his youth was spent. In 1911
He became a member of the Bigelow
Christian Church and had lived the life of
a Christian.

In 1918 he was united in marriage to Alta
Armstrong in Topeka, Kansas, and to this
union was born two sons, Fred Churchill
who preceded his father in death in 1943
and Robert (Bob) Churchill, Topeka,
Kansas. He was also preceded in death by
his parents and one brother, Roy Churchill.

Floyd was engaged in farming after his
marriage, and until the year 1924, when he
moved his family to Winifred, Kansas where
he operated a grocery store for a number of
years. Upon leaving Winifred in April 1930,
they moved to California but remained there
only until fall, when they returned to Bigelow
Kansas, purchased the farm east of town,
where the have lived until the present time,
with the exception of two years, 1937 and
1938, when they lived in Washington state.

He was a mean of sterling qualities, a kind
and loving husband and father all will be
greatly missed.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Alta;
and one son Robert Churchill, Seattle,
Washington; two sisters Mrs. Blanche Owen,
Vliets, Kansas and Mrs. Elsie Tilley, of
Frankfort, Kansas; two brothers, Curtis,
Sacramento, California, and Arch, Frank-
fort, Kansas, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Monday,
November 21 at Padden Chapel in Frankfort
with burial in the Antioch Cemetery,
southwest of Frankfort, Kansas.

Pallbearers were Wes Miller, Roy Cobb,
Emmett Raymond, Art Neal, Carl Shubert,
Bud Nester.
