Frederick Henry Lording resided at Ferntree Gully with his family. He was born at Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England, on 15th February 1834. Frederick arrived in Victoria during April 1853 (aged 19). He married Marianne Coulsell in Melbourne on 18th October 1854. The couple had eleven children. Frederick was described as a builder, carpenter and a farmer at different times. He built his residence named "Kingston" on the corner of Dorset and Commercial Roads Ferntree Gully. Frederick was also a trustee on the Ferntree Gully Cemetery Trust from 1894 until 1905. His wife Marianne died at "Kingston" Ferntree Gully on 27th July 1910, aged 77. Frederick died at Ferntree Gully on 6th January 1914, aged 79. The couple are buried at Ferntree Gully Cemetery, Church of England section A, row 1, grave 04.
