Fred Junior Bowles, 75 of Sand Springs passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 21, 1936 in Vian, OK. to Roy Melvin and Mary (Cowett) Bowles. He was a painter for the state of Oklahoma. He has lived in the community most of his life. He loved bowling, playing his guitars, making picture frames and playing music at the nursing homes. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lea (Thornton) Bowles of the home; children, Bobby Bowles, Annette Castleberry and husband Les; and Steven Bowles; grandchildren, Phillip Bowles, Nick Castleberry, Jessica Bowles, Jeffrey Bowles, Bradley Bowles, Megan Bowles, Natalie Castleberry and Robert Bowles; great-grandchildren, Emberlynn, Abigail, Elizabeth, Davinee, Layton, Emily; 2 brothers, Howard and Buddy; and sister, Ruth Robison. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Melvin and Mary Bowles; brothers, Richard, Raymond, Odell, Junior, Cecil and Bobby; and sister, Ruby. Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, OK. Officiating will be the Reverends Les Castleberry and Ronnie Gibson. Bearers will be Stephen Bowles, Bob Bowles, Les Castleberry, Nick Castleberry, Bradley Bowles and Robert Bowles. Interment to follow at Sunrise Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
