Ernest Eldon Looney, 91, of Chenoweth Fork Road, Piketon, Ohio, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio.
He was born May 15, 1921 in Grundy, Virginia, son of the late Rufus Garland Looney and Patty (Ratliff) Looney. On June 12, 1987 Ernest was united in marriage to Ruth M. (Tomlin) Looney who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Glenn of Georgia, two daughters, Patricia Sue Conley and Linda Eileen Skinner both of Erin, Tennessee, eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, three stepsons, Harold Ray (Patricia) Smith, Gerald Jay (Robin) Smith and Bradley Shay (Wanda) Smith all of Piketon, Ohio, six step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, brother, Robert Looney and wife Fannie of Columbus, Ohio, three sisters, Norma Greene of Columbus, Ohio, Betty (Ned) Musselman and Bertie (David) Musselman all of Orient, Ohio.
Ernest was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl (Greene) Looney, son, Ernest Eugene Looney, two granddaughters, Nancy and Dianna Looney, three brothers, Stanford, Leon and John Looney and sister, Eileen Bennett.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Darren Tomlin officiating. Burial will follow in Ladd Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
