On October 2 1871 he married in Jeffersonville to Katherine Beseth who survives with 2 sons - Edward of White Sulphur Springs and Andrew on the farm.
Also leaves the following step brothers and step sisters - Mrs William Fritz and William and Andrew Abplanalp of Liberty, Mrs Carrie Krum and Mrs George Krum of Jeffersonville.
