Hazel M. Helmlinger, 89, of Nampa, died Saturday, April 6, 1996, at a Caldwell care center. Hazel M. Helmlinger was born on August 13, 1906, at Lima, Ohio, to Fred and Gertrude Stevens Adams. She was reared and attended schools in Lima. Hazel married Donald L. Sirks in 1924 at Lima, where they made their home. While in Lima, she managed a snack bar at the Lima Roller Rink for several years. Mr. Sirks later passed away. She was married briefly to Raymond Helmlinger. In 1974 she moved to Upland, California, to be near her daughter. In 1993 she moved to Caldwell with her daughter and son-in-law, where she had since resided. Hazel had been a member of the First Missionary Church in Lima for over 40 years.

She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Albert Starke, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Betty and James Agnew, Caldwell; 1 sister, Gladys Truesdale, Waynesfield, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Erickson, Nampa, Amy Agnew, Azusa, California, Don Starke, Dona Starke and Diane Woods, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lenna Ruth and 3 brothers.
