Rites Held for Harley Kerr, 77
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3 at the Massena First Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. for Harley T. Kerr, 77. Rev. Bobbie Gotz officiated.
Pearl Spieker accompanied Michael Sue Boos as she sang "How Great Thou Art" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Mr. and Mrs. Howard Arp and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ryan were in charge of flowers.
Casket bearers were Delmer McElfish, Donald Powell, John Ihnen, Richard Johnson, Roger Holaday, and Jim Cullen. Honorary bearers were Leroy Schwenke, Robert Waters, Dewey Williams, Adolph Anderson, Robert Hitt, and Robert Whitaker. Interment was in the Massena Center Cemetery. Massena Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kerr, son of Hayes and Florence Davidson Kerr, was born October 7, 1900 in Green City, Missouri and passed away Sunday, April 30, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Anita, where he had bee a resident five days.
Mr. Kerr was united in marriage to Wilda Lenore Stacy on December 8, 1944 at Greenfield. They spent their entire married life in Massena. Mr. Kerr was a member for 27 years of the Massena Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; three sisters, Leora Plumlee of Gifford, Missouri, Mrs. Ernest (Zula) Magers and Mrs. Everett (Annabelle) Gramling, both of Kirksville, Missouri; three brothers, Montel of Boise, Idaho, Cecil of LaPlata, Missouri, and Hadley of California, Missouri; also other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
