He was the son of William and Ann Husky Sanders and married Alice Belle Thomas - 25 Dec 1890 - Franklin Co., Tennessee, and Beatrice C. McGehee - 19 Aug 1894 - Moore Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:


Services Held Monday For John W. Sanders --


John Wesley Sanders, age 87, a resident of Decherd, died Saturday at a local hospital following an illness of two weeks.


Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the J. C. Moore and Son Funeral Home with Bobby Jones officiating. Burial was in Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.


A native of Moore County, Mr. Sanders was a member of the Church of Christ.


He is survived by three brothers, Will Sanders of Huntsville, Alabama, Jim Sanders of Pelham, Tennessee, and Charlie Sanders of Tullahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Owens and Mrs. Lena Sanders, both of Huntsville; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
