He was born Jan. 27, 1930 in Cleveland, the son of Howard B. and Alma (Goerss) Acker, who preceded him in death.
He married Cecile Questel on Dec. 30, 1955, and she survives along with one son, Todd B. Acker, and wife, Marcia, of Sidney, and one grandson, Jordon Acker.
He attended Ohio University in Athens for three years and was a United States Navy veteran. He had been employed at Bailey Meter in Wickliffe as a designer for 30 years. He was a member of the Sidney Masons and a member of the Hardin United Methodist Church in Hardin.
He enjoyed collecting old cars and repairing cars.At his request, his body will be cremated and there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice, 1083 Fairington Drive, Sidney, OH.
