Weathersfield, VT: Michael G. Dashner, age 50, died at his home on Friday, October 12, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was born in New London, NH on December 24, 1961 to Gary & Carolyn Dashner, Sunapee, NH. Michael graduated from Sunapee High School and The Thompson School of Engineering at UNH. He was a long time resident of Georges Mills, NH. He was self employed as a Septic System Designer.
Michael served as Captain for the Sunapee Fire Department, Engine 3, and also as the Health Officer for the Town of Sunapee for several years. He was a member of King Solomon's Masonic Lodge in Elkins, a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Bektash Shriners. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating and gardening.
Michael is survived by his wife Tammy Dashner of Weathersfield, VT, stepchildren: Meghan Annis of East Fairfield VT and Michael Airheart of Weathersfield, VT, his parents Gary and Carolyn Dashner of Sunapee, NH, his grandmother Elsie J. Morrill of Newport, NH, his brother Brett Dashner of Georges Mills, NH, his sister Michele Bates and her husband Jim Bates of Georges Mills, NH, as well as several nephews and nieces and countless friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3PM Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Croydon Flat Church on Croydon Turnpike Road. Burial will follow at the Eastman Cemetery on North Road in Sunapee. Rev. Donna Leslie will officiate.
Friends may call on the family from 6-8PM Thursday evening the 18th at the Newton Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street in Newport.
