WILLIAM B. GILPIN, 87, DIES AT HOME OF SISTER IN YAMHILL ON SATURDAY
YAMHILL, Dec. 30 - William Barney Gilpin, 87 years old, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Frank Russell, Saturday night, Dec. 28. He was born Oct. 3, 1842, in Harrisonville, Ky.
He came to Oregon in an early day having lived in this county for over 50 years. He was a Civil War veteran and an Odd Fellow, having been a member for many years of the Gaston lodge.
Funeral services were conducted by the Odd Fellows with the Rev. Holmes of the Congregational church of Forest Grove presiding. Burial was made in the Gaston cemetery Monday at eleven o'clock.
