Jerome "Jerry" Franzen Davenport 89, formerly of Walla Walla, Spokane, and Seattle, died in Yakima, Sunday, Nov., 23, 2003. He was born in Portland, Oregon, on Oct. 29, 1914; his parents were Earl Remington and Ottilia Franzen Davenport. He attended Walla Walla High School, where he excelled academically and in sports. He also was known as a very gift vocalist. After graduating from high school, he attended the Arillaga School of Music in San Francisco.
Jerry retired from the US Postal Service in 1971, after 37 years of government service. He moved to Yakima.
He was known for making candy and painting landscapes for family and friends.
