U.S. Congressman. During World War I, he served as a Yeoman in the United States Naval Reserve, (1918-19). After the war, he graduated from the law department of Temple University Pennsylvania, in 1920, was admitted to the bar and commenced the practice of law in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State civil service commission, (1928-32) and served in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, (1933-34). In 1939, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress, serving until 1941. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served chairman of the board for the Hol-Gar Manufacturing Corporation of Pennsylvania, until his death at age 76.
