Funeral service for Mr. John O'Rourke McMichael, 57, of Alexander City, will be Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park with veteran honors provided by the Alexander City Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. McMichael passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born on January 17, 1955 in Anniston, Alabama to Joseph Frances McMichael and Virginia Ella Davis McMichael. John was an avid Alabama and NASCAR fan. He loved kids very much. John was also an excellent cook and enjoyed getting the family together. He was an U.S. Army veteran and a great electrician.

He is survived by his sisters, Marie Annette Johnston of Goodwater and Jo Anne Willis (Samuel) of Wetumpka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Patrick O'Neal McMichael and Timothy O'Shaunessey McMichael .
