Charles Fischer, 83, a retired town of Meeme, Manitowoc county, farmer, died early today at St. Nicholas Hospital here. He had been brought to the hospital last Wednesday after suffering a stroke at his farm home a mile west of Osman. Born in the town of Schleswig, March 22, 1874, he married the former Minnie Quest, Oct 22, 1904 at Theresa, Wis.
Following marriage the couple lived for a short time at School Hill where Mr. Fischer worked as a mason. For the past 46 years he had lived on the Meeme farm which he operated until retirement. Mrs. Fischer died in 1930.
Surviving are a son, Omar, on the home farm; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Lange (Lucille) on the home farm, and Mrs. Joseph Deehr (Dorothy), R. 1, Manitowoc; six grandchildren; two brothers, George and Oscar, and a sister, miss Clara Fischer, all of Arcadia, Calif.
Services will be held Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Celebrant of the requiem mass will be the Rev. Alfred Schmidt, SDS, pastor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
