Naomi L. Yeakel, 72, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, VA, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 25, 2011. She was a graduate of Quakertown High School in Pennsylvania and later attended the Berean Bible School in Allentown, PA and Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Naomi was an active member of the Christian Womens Club and had a weekly home Bible study until her death. Earlier in life she enjoyed tennis, home crafts, and new technology. She had been a member of the Girls Trio, a Sunday School teacher, youth ministry leader, as well as participating in church choir. Survivors: She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David W. Yeakel, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, VA; other survivors include, her daughter Amy N. Cumings of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and two sons, Daniel W. Yeakel, of West Palm Beach, FL and Dave Yeakel, Jr., of Falls Church, VA; Naomis surviving sisters, Leah Gehman and Junia Foulds, both reside in Macungie, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Musselman. Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lake of the Woods Church, Locust Grove, VA, with a celebration of life service to begin at 2 p.m. Rev. Tom Schafer will officiate the service. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Cedar Church, 3419 Broadway, Allentown, PA. Dr. Richard C. Ziemer will oversee the 2 p.m. graveside service.
