Enlisted at age 32 on 10 Sep 1863 at Brooklyn, NY; mustered in as PVT Co C to serve 3 years; captured in action 22 Jun 1864 near Petersburg, VA; died, no date available at Millen, GA as pow. (NYS Adj Gen Rpt, Muster Card, Burial Register at Lawton Cemetery; Burial Register at Beaufort from ROH re-interred Beaufort Feb 1868)

Roll of Honor 1868 XIV # 270 as Parker, Thomas Co C 63rd NY Infantry, no death date.

Pension record from widow Ann McCudden Aug 1865 notes he enlisted under his mother's maiden name of Parker. Pension records lists Parker as alias, actual name McCudden.

Prior Service in 5th US Infantry.

Civilian Occupation: Tailor

Initial burial at Millen, GA in unmarked trench and re-interred at Beaufort National in Feb 1868 per QM records. Original burial list has death date as June 1864 but pension records indicate death may have been closer to Dec 64 or Jan 65. Many of Millen deaths on Roll of Honor do not have a specific date of death. 22 June is his captured in action date.
