EDNA – Frank C. Murphy, 80, died at this home in Bartlett at about 3 a.m. today, Oct. 28, 1967. He had been ill for some time.

Born on rural Bartlett on Oct. 20, 1887, he lived in Bartlett and that vicinity all his life.

On Nov. 20, 1907 he married Gertrude Johnston at her home on rural Chetopa.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; three sons, Clifford, Carl and Wayne, rural Bartlett; a daughter, Mrs. John Sprecher, Oswego; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, James, Ponca City, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Loop, Vinita, Okla.; Mrs. Pansy Barnaby, Howard, and Mrs. Violet Bidlen, Omak, Wash.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.

For 30 years he was a Hackberry township trustee and assessor.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bartlett Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rex Bear officiating. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery, near Bartlett, under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Edna.
