Son of Charles and Eliza Bault Beard.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, April 24, at Pickett's Chapel for Charles William Beard, 72, who died Tuesday, April 22. The Reverend Riddle had charge of the services. Beard, who was born in Adair county, first married Mrs. Lou Woodson Sullivan, who preceded him in death. In 1899 he married Mrs. John T. Hubbard who died in 1915. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. C. D. Beard, Milltown. In 1916 he married Miss Eliza Rayburn, who survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Henry Wilkerson, Greensburg; a foster son, Lonnie Williams; two step-daughters, Mrs. R. L. Rayburn and Mrs. Lee Risen, all of Greensburg; several grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
