Wife of Dr. Stuart M. Yancey. Daughter of Henry Clay and Barbara Ann (nee Keedy) Mumma.

This is her obit as published in the Harrisonburg Rockingham Register, Thursday, July 18, 1889 in which they quote from the Hagerstown Daily News-

Death of an Estimable Lady.
--------------------------
"Mrs. Janie Yancey, wife of Dr. S. M. Yancey, of Fuukstown, and daughter of Mr. H. C. Mumma, of this City (formerly of Sharpsburg), died at her residence in Funkstown, Thursday morning. Dr. and Mrs. Yancey have been married only one month and her early death is mourned by a large circle of loving friends. The remains were brought to Mr. Mumma's residence on South Potomac street, and the funeral will take place from there.

Mrs. Yancey was a young Lady of fine attainment and bright social qualities; she had a large circle of friends and acquaintances at home and abroad who, with her own kindred, will mourn her early and sudden departure.--Hagerstown Daily News, July 12 ---

Dr. Yancey is a native of this county, being a son of Capt. W. B. Yancey, our well known fellow-citizen, and brother of W. L. Yancey, a member of the bar of Harrisonburg. Dr. Yaucey has the sincere sympathy of our whole community."
