Mary Gertrude Grubaugh was born in 1878 to Matthew Palmer Grubaugh and Lenora Jane Snavely. She was the first of their 13 children. She married Clarence Philander Wood on 10 Jan 1896 in Columbus, Platte, NE. They had 11 children - Ellen Wood, Priscilla Irene Wood, Emma Belle Wood, Abbie May Wood, Lillian J. Wood, Albert Lee Wood, George L. Wood, Florence A. Wood, Josephine M. Wood, Jennie E. Wood, and Cora L. Wood. Clarence died in 1947 and Mary died 7 years later. She never remarried.
