Orange Blossoms.

Mr. F. J. McShane, of the firm of J. H. & F. J. McShane, city transfer agents, was, on yesterday afternoon, married to Miss Agnes O'Conner, daughter of Mr. Charles O'Conner, of this city. The ceremony was performed in the Cathedral of St. Philomena, by Rt. Rev. Bishop O'Connor. Mr. Edward Lucas acted as groomsman, and Miss Nora O'Conner, sister of the bride, assisted as bridesmaid. The occasion was marked by a total absence of display, which comported with the retiring disposition of the contracting parties. After the conclusion of the marriage Mr. and Mrs. McShane took the afternoon train for the east. They will be absent about two weeks, during which time they will visit several places in Ohio and New York. Upon their return they will heartily welcomed by an extended circle of acquaintances to whom they have long been known, and by whom they are highly respected. Mr. McShane's married acquaintances have already congratulated him upon the manliness of the step, and the success which has attended it in the selection of his amiable and accomplished wife. There is, however, a corresponding degree of sadness, a feeling of bereavement experienced by "Phil's" old-time single acquaintances, now that he, their most favored and genial associate, has had the temerity to forsake them in the manner above referred to. The charm, under the influence of which they lived, has been dispelled. Single blessedness will henceforth be thought unworthy of living for; and, as a consequence, at intervals during the summer it is expected there will be an unwonted frequency in the merry jingle of the festive marriage bells.
