Maudie Leona, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
I.T. Kerschner was born December 6, 1888
near Osage City, Kansas, and departed this
life on August 16, 1935 at Christ’s Hospital
in Topeka, Kansas at the age of 46 years, 8
months and 10 days.
When she was eight years old, the family
moved to Bigelow, Kansas where she spent
her girlhood.
She was united in marriage to Leroy Grover
Sparks on October 3, 1907. Their home has
always been in the Bigelow community with
the exception of one year spent on a farm
near Blue Rapids, Kansas.
Eight children where born to this union,
Hazel, who died in infancy; Lester, Orlin,
Howard, Opal, Helen, Ethel and Paul.
Besides her husband, and family she is
survived by Mrs. John Tilley, Frankfort,
Kansas; one brother, Bert Kerschner, of
Junction City, Kansas; two half-sisters,
Mrs. Etta Croft, Hominy, Oklahoma and
Mrs. Cora Richy, Munsee, Indiana and
one half-brother, James Tillson, Junction
City, Kansas; nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery,
southwest of Frankfort, Kansas.
