Gene W. Anderson, Sr., 63, went to be with the Lord at 12:05 p.m. on Monday,October 10, 2005, at his home,surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mildred M. "Millie"(Albright) Anderson. The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary January 28, 2005. He was born December 5, 1941,in Kralltown, a son of Myrtle M.(Gise)Anderson of Dover and the late Lester E. Anderson. Gene was the owner of Anderson Construction & Excavating in Dover for 35 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wellsville and Kralltown Hunting Camp. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. In addition to his wife and mother, Gene is survived by two daughters, Peggy S. Durnin of Carlisle and Patti J. Shay of Windsor; a son, Wayne T. Anderson of East Berlin; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Judy A. Anderson of Dillsburg; and three brothers, Gary L. Anderson, Rodney C. Anderson, and Lester E. Anderson, Jr., all of Dover. He was preceded in death by a son, Gene W. Anderson, Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Bermudian Church of the Brethren, 279 Bermudian Church Road, East Berlin, and the viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, and 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. William F. Gettins, and the Rev. Georgia Markey, a minister of Bermudian Church of the Brethren.
