Mrs. Jay Nicholson

Nora M. Nicholson, 74, of Rt. 1, Salem, died in a Clarksburg hospital at 10 p.m. Sunday, October 16, following a sudden illness.

She was born April 27, 1903, at Newburg, a daughter of the late Samuel and Levernie Plum Roe.

Surviving are her husband, Jay Nicholson, whom she married Jan. 14, 1922; two sons, Kenneth Nicholson, St. Albans, Donald Nicholson, at home; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, who died in infancy, three sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Nicholson was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and the L. J. Woofter Bible Class of the church. She had operated Jay's Tourist court at Salem for the past 55 years.

Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby C. Meeks, the church pastor, and Rev. Clifford Sutherland, officiating. Interment was in the K of P Memorial Park.
