Keith Elton Koch, 92, of Tremont passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born Oct. 16, 1920, in rural Mackinaw to Elmer and Cora Koch. He married Lillian E. Lindenfelser on Aug. 17, 1946, in East Peoria, and she passed away July 21, 2012.

Surviving are one daughter, Ellen Becker of Pekin; one son, Timothy (Vera) Koch of Tremont; one brother, Larry (Shirley) Koch of East Peoria; brothers-in-law, Stuart (Jean) McKneight of Pekin and Earl (Evelyn) Lindenfelser of Armington; and sisters-in-law, Nola Koch of Tremont, Mary (Earl) Brown of Morton and Alma Steffen of Washington.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Koch; two sisters, Imogene Lindenfelser and Shirley Tiffan; brother, Clinton Koch; five brothers-in-law, Ed Steffen, Carl Tiffan, Leonard, Lloyd and Arthur Lindenfelser; and three sisters-in-law, Esther Miller, Velma LaCost and Ulla McKneight.

Keith retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1981 after working 42 years. He began his career as a machinist apprentice. He became a Research Design Engineer for various groups, retiring as an engineer in the tire manufacturing facility.

Keith also served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He enjoyed photography, travel, and anything related to engineering, often using his skills and talents to help others.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
