Iva Mae Anderson Lawson, 73, died at 4:27 AM Thursday, May 13, 1999, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where she had been a patient one day and ill for one-and-a-half years. Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Metcalf County, KY, she lived in the Lafayette area most of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Romney High School. She married Eugene Dale Lawson on May 22, 1948; he died Oct. 1, 1997.
Mrs. Lawson was head of the legal and payroll departments at the Lafayette Journal and Courier newspaper when she retired in 1980 after 34 years.
Surviving are a brother, Elden Anderson of West Lafayette; and two sisters, Jewell Fidler and Geneva Crow, both of Lafayette. Preceded in death by two brothers.
