He was the son of the late Elwood and Regina (Gordon) Harner.
A 1951 graduate of Littlestown High School, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, after which he worked and retired from Aero Oil of New Oxford. He was also employed at Kennie's Market in Littlestown after retiring.
He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Alpha Fire Company and Fish & Game, all of Littlestown, as well as the Hanover Republican Club and Catholic War Veterans, Bonneauville.
He was the husband of the late Barbara (Redding) Harner, who entered into eternal rest in 1995, and is survived by one daughter, Debra A. Harner of Hanover; two sons, Clyde E. Harner Jr of Erie and Michael L. Harner of Havre de Grace, MD; a sister, Mildred P. Danner of Gettysburg; two great-grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.
Interment was with military honors provided by the Littlestown Allied Veterans Council.
