PY Jewler dies at 67

PENN YAN --- Robert C. Schmidt, 67, of 112 Main St., a prominent jewler in Penn Yan, died yesterday at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements by the Townsend-Thayer Funeral Chapel are incomplete.
Mr. Schmidt was born in Blossburg, Pa., the son of Robert R and Vera Crandall Schmidt. He received his higher education at the Boman Technical Institute, Lancaster, Pa., and St. Lawrence University in Canton. He was a member of the Keuka Lodge 149 IOOF and the Penn Yan United Methodist Church.
Mr. Schmidt purchased his jewelry store on Main St. 43 years ago on his birthday.
He is survived by his wife; Eunice, a sister, Mrs. Edward H. Rockey of Ringwood, N. J., two nephews Ned and Robert Rockey of Paramus, N. J.
