BATAVIA-Sarah J. Webb 94, formerly of Batavia, enterd into new life on March 10, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa.

She was born on May 13, 1912 in Eddyville to Layfette and Ida Ellen Roberts Griggs. She married Russell R. Webb on May 29, 1935 in Ottumwa; he preceded her in death on Aug 17, 1985.

She was raised and educated in Eddyville, having moved to Batavia in 1935 where she lived her entire adult life. She was very proud of the fact that she lived in the very same house from 1938 to 2002. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Batavia United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Group and the O.D.A. Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Glotfelty of Victor, Bett Durflinger of Green Top, MO and Patti Whitman of Madrid; her sons, Wyman Webb of Ottumwa and James Webb of Anoka, Minn; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-children; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, 1:30 p.m. at the Batavia Methodist Church with Revs. Bob Dvorak, Dan Davis and Mr. Dennis Hull officating. Interment will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin a noon on Monday at the Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Batavia United Methodist Church.
