A native of North Carolina settled near Trenton in 1859. Isaac S. Davis (1817-1890) and wife A. J. Deck Davis (b. 1819) settled on a farm with their family of 10.
Many of the Davis children married and settled in the county and today Davis is a family name in almost every community in Fannin County.
One son, Jeff (b. 1864), lived in Bonham and served as district clerk from 1902 to 1906. His wife was Rebecca Bell Davis of Bells, Tex.
Other Davis children were A. Clem (b. 1841), who married Thomas B. White; James W. (b. 1843); John (b. 1847) who was married to Joe Johnson; Elizabeth (b. 1845), who married C. W. Weaver of Whitesboro, Tex.; Jacob (b. 1849), who was married to Hattie Chaney; Sarah (1851-1934) who married Joe Aldridge of Orangeville, Texas.; Mary; Thomas (b. 1856), who was married to Jane Pennel; and Robert L. (b. 1859), who was married to Bessie ? and lived at Blossom, Tex.
