Mr. Pankratz was born December 13, 1900 in Barron County, Wisconsin, son of the late Frank and Catherine Wachal Pankratz. He married the former Catherine Mullane on January 17, 1922 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Maple Grove. The couple had the honor of celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary in 1987. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, retiring in 1956 and then moving to Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Marvin and Ione Pankratz of Manitowoc, Michael and Betty Pankratz of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Shirley Pankratz of rural Manitowoc; a daughter and a son-in-law, Arlene and John Newhouse of Whitewater, Wisconsin; a brother, Francis Pankratz of Cato, Wisconsin; 28 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Raphael Pankratz and a sister, Albertha Pankratz Grall.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 pm to 8 pm this Monday. Prayer service will be held at 7 pm this evening.
