Rosemary O'Connell, 56, of Route 3, New Auburn, Wisconsin, died suddenly today at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was born April 21, 1928 in Eau Claire. The daughter of Clara (Knutson) and George Schneider. She graduated from Eau Claire High School. Rosemary was united in marriage to Robert O'Connell July 4, 1949 at St. Patrick's church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She worked at the Chippewa County Health Care Center, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Michael O'Connell of Chippewa Falls, Daniel O'Connell of Bloomer and Joseph O'Connell of Strattford, Wisconsin; three daughters, Jeanne Rasmussen of Bloomer, Collene Spaeth of Chippewa Falls and Patricia Nelson of Sand Creek, Wisconsin; five brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Morris Schneider, all of Eau Claire and Lloyd and Jack Schneider, all of New Brighton, MN; four sisters, Arlene Saheim and Marcella Bonus and Betty Roach, all of Eau Claire and Barbara Speckein of Altoona, Wisconsin and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George and Darrell and a grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Jude's Catholic Church, New Auburn, Wisconsin, with interment in the North Catholic Cemetery, Bloomer, Wisconsin.
Friends may call fro 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Driscoll Funeral Home, Bloomer and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. St. Paul's Rosary and Altar Society will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday and a parish prayer vigil will be held 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
