Nina L. Nugent, 84, of Sebago Lake Road, died on Jan. 12, 2009, at a Portland hospital. Born in South Windham on Aug. 23, 1924, she was the daughter of Ovide J. and Emeline C. (McQuarrie) Larrivee and was raised and educated in Gorham.
A long time home-maker, Nina enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, bells and butterfly's, she was and avid reader and made a hobby out of sending birthday and anniversary cards to all of her family and friends. She was a member of the White Rock Free Baptist Church, in Gorham, a member of the White Rock Grange, as well as a member of the White Rock League and Women's Association; she was a member of the White Rock Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and was a former member of the Little Falls Baptist Church, in Gorham.
Her husband of 65 years, Arthur J. 'Peachy' Nugent, predeceased her on Sept. 13, 2007. One granddaughter, Annette Landry as well as two sisters, Beatrice Charlton and Pearlice Hoyt have also predeceased her.
Surviving are her four children, Mary Cummings and her husband Fred of Westbrook, Ginny Lee Williamson and her husband George of Groton, Conn., Joe Nugent of Gorham and Kerry Nugent and his wife Teri of Hollis; one brother, Ovide 'Jack' Larrivee and his wife Vera of Sylmar, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, from 2 until 3 p.m. at the White Rock Free Baptist Church, where a funeral will be held at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dale Malone will officiate. Arrangements are by the Dolby Funeral Chapel, Windham.
