Bio

Okay, in all honesty, I have to say I really hate writing Bios about myself. So, basic facts are: female, over 62, and currently living with my wonderful 83 year-old mother (we lost my 89 year old stepfather last year after a long illness).

I've been interesting in genealogy for a long time, and as you can see, I've been a FindAGrave member for almost 20 years. In the beginning, it was my mother doing the family genealogy and me doing online searches for her. In the last few years, it's been Mom trying to figure out her side of the family with me mostly focusing on my father's family and doing the online research for both of us. It's been an interesting journey so far. I am hoping to be able to actually begin contributing more to the Memorials already created by others for people in our family-- it has been difficult to find correct and verifiable information on most of them and I won't add what I can't verify as true. (It took months and a lot of correspondence to convince someone that decided a grave and death record was for my mother and showed she died more than 20 years previously. Bad enough that most of the rest of the data they were using was incorrect, but they added it all to the records at Family Search. My mom was NOT amused. )

I've started taking an online course in genealogy as I realized I don't know nearly enough about what I'm trying to do.

Now, aren't you sorry they got me started with writing a Bio? If you've read this far, you're probably extremely bored. :)
