Frederick Ford, nicknamed "Rick", grew up in Somerset, Kentucky and Wadsworth, Ohio, graduating from Wadsworth High School in 1963. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, graduating in 1967. After a tour as an officer (Capt.) in the Air Force, stationed in California, Korea, and North Carolina, he graduated from Howard University School of Law in 1976, and began his law practice as a criminal defense attorney in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1984, he became a Senior Trial Attorney with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C., and later a personal injury attorney with a Maryland-Virginia law firm. In 1989, he and his family moved to Jupiter, Florida, where he established a private law practice specializing in employment discrimination and civil rights law, where he practiced until retiring in 2019. On November 10, 2002, Rick married Stephanie Ann Constantine at a private ceremony at Red Rock Canyon outside Las Vegas, Nevada. Rick & Stephanie make their home now in North Palm Beach, Florida.
