I am the daughter of Alvin Ridley Callahan and Mamie Callahan; grand-daughter of Clifton Callahan and Sarah T. Sutton and Monroe Callahan and Mary Bailes; the widow of Robert A. Vega, beloved husband. Mary Bailes was the great grand-daughter of Averetta and Solomon Allred of North Carolina and Tennessee. Averetta was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. Our Callahan ancestors descended from Darby Callahan and his son, John, who immigrated from Ireland.
