I presently live in Hurst, Texas and first started researching my family history in 1979. My early Texas ancestors, William S. Crowson and his brothers, John J. Crowson and Henry P. Crowson first came to Texas in about 1838. Other early ancestors; Elisha Prewitt came to Texas in 1820, Henry Rhodes along with Byrem Jenkins settled in Texas in the 1840's.
